Art Therapy uses art to improve and enhance the physical, mental, emotional well being of the individual. It helps to resolve conflicts and problems, develop interpersonal skills, reduce stress, built up self esteem, develop self awareness and achieve insight.
This type of art can be healing. It helps the individual express their hidden emotions and hurtful feelings that are too painful to express verbally. Once this takes place then healing can begin. It eventually provides a total sense of freedom.
Any one can benefit from art therapy, regardless of age, race or cultural background. No art experience is necessary.
It’s a healthy way to explore our inner feelings, and eventually helps the individual to heal, grow and make positive changes.
